Starting position
In spring 2018 Jeannine Gmelin is at the start of the season and without a main sponsor seven months after winning the World Championship. Logo presence on the boat, competition dress, cap and oar handle are available to potential partners.

Challenge
Rowing in Switzerland – and nearly everywhere in the world – is a fringe sport, and moreover a men’s sport. There is not much money to be made with sponsoring in rowing, especially for women. Jeannine is a professional sportswoman and relies on income and marketing activities – via partners. She trains all week in the Sarnen rowing centre and does not have much time outside of training.

The rest of the story is quickly told: invited to a meeting at the headquarters – only 300 meters from the rowing center. After discussions about their business needs, rights and benefits as well as budgets, a sponsorship agreement was quickly reached. They happen to be located just around the corner from where she trains and Jeannine has now become a key ambassador for the whole region. The process could not be more efficient.
