Justin Murisier

Innovative concept for a main partner in ski

Sports: Alpine Skiing
Career: 7th place Alpine combined Wengen 2018
4th place Giant slalom Alta Badia 2017
4th place Alpine combined Santa Caterina 2017

Starting position
Justin Murisier had no personal main sponsor (helmet sponsor) in early summer 2017. Ochsner Sport, who had been his partner until, then, ended the partnership due to management changes. This left Justin in precarious situation ahead of the season.

Challenge
The personal main sponsor with logo on the helmet is the most rewarding for a skiers financially and therefore vital for Justin Murisier’s career. Timing was not in our favour and a new partner had to be found during the current year shortly before the ski season coming up. For most companies, budgets had been set for the year especially in winter sports and we had to target fresh leads or prospects.

The samm Approach
To maximise our chances we came up with a totally new concept that had never been done before in ski.  That is splitting the main partnership between two companies where they would share the logo position simultaneously between each race. We also convinced both the FIS and the Swiss ski authorities to enforce this new concept. This method allowed us to go in the market with a lower rights fee than otherwise been.

The Result

Two partners were acquired for Justin Murisier for the 2017/2018 season: Verbier Tourism and Comina Architecture. Both companies were entitled to the personality rights all season with logo presence by alternating each race. The concept proved its worth and the two companies extended their involvement for a further two years.

Convinced? Next case!
